WHAT IS THE DRAIN AND ACID CLEAN SERVICE?
Drain and acid clean pool service is one of the rarest services pool owners use. However, if you have recently bought a house that has been on the market more than one summer you will most likely need to drain and acid wash your swimming pool. First Look Service always aims to protect the owner’s inventory and to give the most realistic and efficient solution. In this case, acid wash service is recommended if we take off your pool cover and the bottom (floor) of the swimming pool cannot be seen. Various reasons could stand behind this unpleasant look such as unprofessional winterizing (improper amount or not enough winterizing chemicals added during closing procedures) or late summer opening (with rising temperatures, without any water circulation and balanced chemical levels, the algae have a better chance to thrive).
Drain and acid clean service is used not only in those emergency situations. Some clients choose this option just to bring back the fresh and clean appearance to their pool. Acid clean pool service will strip down a tiny layer of the plaster to expose fresh plaster underneath.
FAQ:
- Can all pools be drained and acid-cleaned? – Only plaster, pebble rock, and quartz surfaces are in the group of “YES”.
- Can I drain and acid clean a pool with a 10-year-old surface? – Yes, you can but we cannot guarantee that you will get the result you are looking for. Typically, surfaces more than 7 years old are not recommended for the drain and acid clean service.
- Could you drain and acid clean my pool if it has a crack or a hollow spot? – No, this is not recommended and could lead to further damages of your pool or spa integrity.
- How do I know if I need the drain and acid clean pool service? – Usually, the acid clean service is recommended if your swimming pool has not been open for more than 1 year. Most likely there will be stains from leaves and algae growth deep in your pool coating.
- Could I drain and acid clean the pool on my own? – We do not recommend residential pool owners to acid clean their pool on their own! If not properly measured acid could cause huge damage to your pool surface and is very dangerous to work with!

· Water supply and fill at client’s expense.
· Owners must not add any chemicals 3 days prior to our draining of the pool.
· Owners must indicate the preferred area for us to pump water.
